श्रीशुक उवाच तद्वीक्ष्य व्यसनं तासां कृपया भृशपीडित: । सर्वभूतसुहृद् देव इदमाह सतीं प्रियाम् ॥ ३६ ॥

Śrī Śukadeva Gosvāmī fuhr fort: Als der stets wohlwollende Herr Śiva, Freund aller Lebewesen, sah, wie die Geschöpfe durch das überall sich ausbreitende Gift schwer beunruhigt wurden, wurde er von tiefem Mitgefühl ergriffen. So sprach er zu seiner ewigen Gemahlin Satī wie folgt.
