Related Themes: Agni Purana 365.44-45 (continuation of occupational lists)
It gives socio-economic organization knowledge: artisans (kāru) and craftsmen (śilpī) are described as forming formal guilds (śreṇīs) when united with their own occupational communities.
Beyond rituals and theology, it records practical frameworks of society—classification of communities and the institution of guilds—showing the Purana’s coverage of governance, economy, and civic organization.
By mapping occupations and group-organization into a dharma framework, the verse implies that livelihood and social conduct are to be regulated by ordered association (śreṇī), supporting social stability as a dharmic good.
