prasīda devi sarvasya jagataḥ śaṃ śubhe kuru prītyā taṃ dhārayeśānaṃ dhṛtaṃ yenākhilaṃ jagat
Devaki (prayerful address, invoking the Devi while affirming the Lord who sustains all)
This verse frames spiritual prayer as universal in scope—seeking welfare for the whole jagat—while grounding peace in alignment with the Lord who sustains all existence.
By calling him īśāna and stating that the entire universe is ‘held’ (dhṛtam) by him, the verse emphasizes Vishnu’s supreme sovereignty and cosmic support.
Vishnu is implied as the ultimate support of reality—devotion ‘upholds’ remembrance of him, while he alone upholds the world—highlighting a Vaishnava vision of the Supreme sustaining all.
