This verse identifies Sāvarṇi as a future Manu, marking the Purana’s structured chronology of Manvantara cycles where each Manu governs a distinct cosmic epoch under Vishnu’s overarching order.
Parāśara lists the Manu and the principal groups of devas for that period, showing that each Manvantara has a defined administration—Manu as lawgiver and specific divine classes as its presiding gods.
Even when not named in the line, the Manvantara system is presented as Vishnu’s cosmic governance: devas and Manus function within a divinely maintained order where Vishnu remains the supreme reality and regulator.
