Yogatattva

अल्पमूत्रपुरीषश्च स्वल्पनिद्रश्च जायते । कीलवो दृषिका लाला स्वेददुर्गन्धतानने ॥

एतानि सर्वथा तस्य न जायन्ते ततः परम् । ततोऽधिकतराभ्यासाद्बलमुत्पद्यते बहु ॥

येन भूचर सिद्धिः स्याद्भूचराणां जये क्षमः । व्याघ्रो वा शरभो व्यापि गजो गवय एव वा ॥

सिंहो वा योगिना तेन म्रियन्ते हस्तताडिताः । कन्दर्पस्य यथा रूपं तथा स्यादपि योगिनः ॥५७–६०॥

अल्प-मूत्र-पुरीषः । च । स्वल्प-निद्रः । च । जायते । कीलवः । दृषिका । लाला । स्वेद-दुर्गन्धता । आनने ॥

एतानि । सर्वथा । तस्य । न । जायन्ते । ततः । परम् । ततः । अधिकतर-अभ्यासात् । बलम् । उत्पद्यते । बहु ॥

येन । भूचर-सिद्धिः । स्यात् । भूचराणाम् । जये । क्षमः । व्याघ्रः । वा । शरभः । व्यापि । गजः । गवयः । एव । वा ॥

सिंहः । वा । योगिना । तेन । म्रियन्ते । हस्त-ताडिताः । कन्दर्पस्य । यथा । रूपम् । तथा । स्यात् । अपि । योगिनः ॥५७–६०॥

alpamūtrapurīṣaś ca svalpanidraś ca jāyate | kīlavo dṛśikā lālā svedadurgandhatānane ||

etāni sarvathā tasya na jāyante tataḥ param | tato'dhikatarābhyāsād balam utpadyate bahu ||

yena bhūcara-siddhiḥ syād bhūcarāṇāṃ jaye kṣamaḥ | vyāghro vā śarabho vyāpi gajo gavaya eva vā ||

siṃho vā yoginā tena mriyante hasta-tāḍitāḥ | kandarpasya yathā rūpaṃ tathā syād api yoginaḥ ||57–60||

প্রথমে মূত্র ও মল অল্প হয় এবং নিদ্রাও কমে যায়; ফোঁড়া, চক্ষুরোগ, অতিরিক্ত লালা, ঘাম ও মুখে দুর্গন্ধও হতে পারে। পরে এগুলি আর তার মধ্যে একেবারেই জন্মায় না। তারপর অধিকতর অভ্যাসে মহাবল উৎপন্ন হয়; তাতে ‘ভূচর’ সিদ্ধি লাভ হয় এবং ভূমিবাসীদের জয়ে সে সক্ষম হয়। বাঘ, শরভ, নেকড়ে, হাতি, গবয় ও সিংহ—এরা সেই যোগীর হাতের আঘাতে নিহত হয়। যোগীর রূপও কন্দর্পের ন্যায় মনোহর হয়।

There arise scant urination and excretion, and little sleep; (there may be) boils, eye-disease, saliva, sweating, and foul odor in the mouth. After that, these do not arise for him at all. Then, by still greater practice, much strength is produced—by which the ‘earth-walking’ siddhi occurs, (and) he becomes capable of conquering earth-dwellers. A tiger, or a śarabha, or a wolf, an elephant, or a gavaya (wild ox), or a lion—these are slain by that yogin with a blow of the hand. Like Kāma (Kandarpa) in form, so too the yogin becomes.
