Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
The verse teaches that exalted sages may embody Shiva’s direct presence; honoring them with reverence purifies pride and strengthens bhakti, which supports liberation (moksha) in Shaiva understanding.
It emphasizes Saguna Shiva’s accessibility: Shiva can be encountered not only in the Linga but also through His empowered devotees and rishis; reverence to them becomes an extension of Shiva-worship.
Practice humility and respectful conduct toward saints; as a daily discipline, offer a mental salutation to Shiva in all beings while repeating the Panchakshara mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” especially before worship.
