ইন্দ্রের উদ্দেশে ঐন্দ্র আহ্বান—হরিযুক্ত ইন্দ্রকে নিপীড়িত সোম পান করতে, ‘মদ/উল্লাসের অধিপতি’ রূপে দ্রুত আগমনের পুনঃপুন ডাক; এরপর আপঃ (জল)-এর মঙ্গলশক্তির স্তব—তারা শুদ্ধি, পুষ্টি (ঊর্জ), আনন্দ (ময়োভুবঃ), সুস্থ ইন্দ্রিয় বিশেষত দৃষ্টি/আরোগ্য, এবং গৃহস্থালির স্থিতি ও স্থায়ী সমৃদ্ধি (ক্ষয়) দান করুক। যজ্ঞে সঠিক উপাসনা ও সঠিক মাধ্যমেই সিদ্ধি: সোম ইন্দ্রকে আকর্ষণ করে, আর জল জীবনধারক কল্যাণকে পবিত্র করে স্থিত করে—মদ ও শুচিতার সংযোগ।

হে আপঃ! তোমরাই তো আনন্দদায়িনী; আমাদেরকে ঊর্জাময় পোষণ দাও—মহান্ আনন্দের জন্য, এবং (শুভ) দৃষ্টির জন্য।

यो वः शिवतमो रसस्तस्य भाजयतेह नः उशतीरिव मातरः
হে আপঃ! তোমাদের মধ্যে যে সর্বাধিক শিবতম রস, তারই এখানে আমাদের অংশীদার করো—স্নেহময়ী মাতাদের মতো।

त्वं हि वृत्रहन्नेषां पाता सोमानामसि उप नो हरिभिः सुतम्
হে বৃত্রহন্, তুমিই নিশ্চয়ই এই সোমরসগুলির পাতা (পানকারী)। হরি অশ্বসহ আমাদের নিকটে এসো—এই সুত (নিষ্পেষিত) সোম-নিবেদনের দিকে।
