Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
त॑ प्रयान्तमनुप्रायात् कुन्तीपुत्रो युधिष्ठिर: । भीमसेनार्जुनौ चोभौ माद्रीपुत्रो च पाण्डवौ
taṁ prayāntam anuprāyāt kuntīputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | bhīmasenārjunau cobhau mādrīputrau ca pāṇḍavau ||
তিনি যাত্রা করলে তাঁকে বিদায় জানাতে কুন্তীপুত্র যুধিষ্ঠির তাঁর পিছু নিলেন; সঙ্গে গেলেন ভীমসেন ও অর্জুন, এবং মাদ্রীপুত্র দুই পাণ্ডবও।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic kṣatriya conduct: leaders and allies uphold propriety by accompanying an honored person at departure, expressing solidarity and shared commitment to a collective aim rather than acting from mere personal impulse.
As a key figure departs (contextually, the honored envoy/leader), Yudhiṣṭhira and the other Pāṇḍavas follow behind to see him off, signaling respect, alliance, and readiness to pursue the intended political-moral objective.
