शकटापणवेशाश्र यान॑ युग्यं च सर्वश: । तत्र नागसहस्राणि हयानामयुतानि च । फल्गु सर्व कलत्रं च यत्किज्चित् कृशदुर्बलम्
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: śakaṭāpaṇa-veśāśraya-yānāni yugyaṃ ca sarvaśaḥ | tatra nāga-sahasrāṇi hayānām ayutāni ca | phalgu sarva-kalatraṃ ca yat kiñcit kṛśa-durbalam ||
বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন— নানাবিধ ছকড়া ও গাড়ি, হাট-বাজারের দোকানপাট, বেশভূষা ও সরঞ্জামের সামগ্রী, আরোহন-যান এবং জোয়াল-জোতা সকল প্রকার বাহন সেখানে সর্বতোভাবে সংগ্রহ করা হল। সেখানে সহস্র সহস্র হাতি ও অযুত অযুত ঘোড়া ছিল; সঙ্গে ছিল নানা ক্ষুদ্র দ্রব্য, স্ত্রী-পরিজন, এবং যারা কৃশ, দুর্বল বা কষ্ট সহ্য করতে অক্ষম—যা কিছু বহন করে নিয়ে যেতে হত, সবই একত্র করা হল।
