Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
राम उवाच स्मराम्यहं पूर्वकृतां प्रतिज्ञामृषिसत्तम | तथैव च चरिष्यामि यथा साम्नैव लप्स्यते,परशुरामजी बोले--मुनिश्रेष्ठ! मुझे अपनी पहलेकी की हुई प्रतिज्ञाका स्मरण है, तथापि मैं ऐसा प्रयत्न करूँगा कि सामनीतिसे ही काम बन जाय
rāma uvāca smarāmy ahaṃ pūrvakṛtāṃ pratijñām ṛṣisattama | tathaiva ca cariṣyāmi yathā sāmnaiva lapsyate ||
রাম বললেন—“হে ঋষিশ্রেষ্ঠ! আমার পূর্বে করা প্রতিজ্ঞা আমার স্মরণে আছে। তবু আমি এমনভাবে চলব, যাতে সাম-নীতিতেই কাজ সিদ্ধ হয়।”
