Udyoga Parva — Gandhārī’s Counsel to Duryodhana
kaṃsam ekaṃ parityajya kulārthe sarvayādavāḥ | sambhūya sukham edhante bhāratāndhakavṛṣṇayaḥ ||
A society protects its dharma and long-term welfare by uniting for the common good and decisively rejecting a single harmful, tyrannical force—even if that force is powerful—rather than tolerating it for short-term convenience.
Vaiśampāyana cites the example of the Yādava clans: by collectively abandoning Kamsa, they consolidate their unity, live securely, and prosper—presented as a model of clan-protective political action.
