छिद्यते ह्याततं सर्व प्रमाणं पश्य भारत । श्रेयस्ते दुर्जनात्‌ तात पाण्डवैः सह संगतम्‌

Transliteration

chidyate hy ātatam sarva-pramāṇaṃ paśya bhārata | śreyas te durjanāt tāta pāṇḍavaiḥ saha saṅgatam ||

Translation

বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন—হে ভারত, দেখো; ঈর্ষাপরায়ণ ও কুদৃষ্টিসম্পন্ন মানুষের সামনে যতই বিস্তৃত প্রমাণ উপস্থিত করা হোক, তা কেটে গিয়ে নিষ্ফল হয়ে পড়ে। অতএব, প্রিয় বৎস, দুর্জনের সঙ্গের চেয়ে পাণ্ডবদের সঙ্গে সঙ্গতি ও সন্ধি করাই তোমার পক্ষে শ্রেয়।
