इन्द्र: सतां सम्मतश्न निवासश्न महात्मनाम् । सत्यवादी हानिन्द्यश्न धर्मवित् सूक्ष्मनिश्चय:
indraḥ satāṁ sammataś ca nivāsaś ca mahātmanām | satyavādī anindyaś ca dharmavit sūkṣma-niścayaḥ ||
ইন্দ্র সজ্জনদের সম্মত ও পূজ্য, এবং মহাত্মাদের আশ্রয়। তিনি সত্যবাদী, নিন্দার অতীত, ধর্মজ্ঞ এবং সূক্ষ্ম বিচারশক্তিসম্পন্ন।
शल्य उवाच
True authority is grounded in dharma: being esteemed by the virtuous, serving as a refuge to the noble, speaking truth, remaining blameless, and exercising subtle moral judgment.
Śalya is describing Indra’s qualities in a laudatory, exemplary manner, using Indra as a standard of righteous conduct and discerning judgment within the Udyoga Parva’s ethical and political deliberations.
