पापमाचरतो यत्र कर्मणा व्याहृतेन वा | प्रियस्यापि न मृष्येत स राज्ञो धर्म उच्यते

Transliteration

pāpam ācarato yatra karmaṇā vyāhṛtena vā | priyasyāpi na mṛṣyeta sa rājño dharma ucyate ||

Translation

যেখানে কেউ কর্মে বা বাক্যে পাপ করে, সেখানে অপরাধী যতই প্রিয় হোক না কেন, রাজা যেন তা উপেক্ষা না করেন; এই নিরপেক্ষ অনুগ্রহ-অস্বীকারই রাজার ধর্ম বলে ঘোষিত।
