उतथ्योपदेशः—राजधर्मः, दर्पनिग्रहः, प्रजारक्षणम्

Utathya’s Instruction: Royal Dharma, Restraint of Pride, Protection of Subjects

ब्राह्मणानां सदासूयाद्‌ बाल्याद्‌ वैरोचनो बलि: । अथास्माच्छीरपाक्रामद्‌ या$स्मिन्नासीत्‌ प्रतापिनी,विरोचनकुमार बलि बाल्यकालसे ही सदा ब्राह्मणोंपर दोषारोपण करते थे; इसलिये उनकी राजलक्ष्मी, जो शत्रुओंको संताप देनेवाली थी, उनके पाससे हट गयी

brāhmaṇānāṃ sadāsūyād bālyād vairocano baliḥ | athāsmāc chīrapākrāmad yā’sminn āsīt pratāpinī ||

উতথ্য বললেন— বিরোচনের পুত্র বলি শৈশব থেকেই ব্রাহ্মণদের প্রতি সর্বদা দোষারোপ করত। তাই যে রাজলক্ষ্মী তার মধ্যে বাস করত—শত্রুদের দগ্ধকারী সেই প্রতাপিনী—তা তাকে ত্যাগ করে চলে গেল।
