सान्त्व-निति: (Sāntva-Nīti) — The One-Word Principle of Conciliation

आदानादपि भूतानां मधुरामीरयन्‌ गिरम्‌ | सर्वलोकमिमं शक्र सान्त्वेन कुरुते वशे,शक्र! मधुर वचन बोलनेवाला मनुष्य लोगोंकी कोई वस्तु लेकर भी अपनी मधुर वाणीद्वारा इस सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌को वशमें कर लेता है

ādānād api bhūtānāṁ madhurām īrayan giram | sarvalokam imaṁ śakra sāntvena kurute vaśe ||

শক্র বললেন—অন্যের কাছ থেকে কিছু গ্রহণ করলেও যে ব্যক্তি মধুর বাক্য উচ্চারণ করে, সে সান্ত্বনাময় আচরণে এই সমগ্র জগৎকে বশে আনতে পারে। বিনয়পূর্ণ, প্রীতিকর বাক্যের শক্তিতেই হৃদয় জয় হয় এবং কঠোরতা ছাড়াই কাজ সিদ্ধ হয়।
