Chapter 81: Trust, Allies, and the Qualifications of the King’s Artha-Secretary (अर्थसचिव)
तं शक््त्या वर्धमानश्न सर्वतः परिबृंहयेत् । नित्यं क्षताद् वारयति यो धर्मेष्वपि कर्मसु
taṁ śaktyā vardhamānaś ca sarvataḥ paribṛṁhayet | nityaṁ kṣatād vārayati yo dharmeṣv api karmasu ||
নিজের শক্তি ও সমৃদ্ধি বাড়লে, সাধ্য অনুযায়ী তাকে (রাজাকে) সর্বদিক থেকে পুষ্ট ও সমৃদ্ধ করা উচিত। যে ব্যক্তি ধর্মকর্মে নিয়োজিত থেকেও রাজাকে সর্বদা ক্ষতি থেকে রক্ষা করতে চায় এবং রাজাহানির আশঙ্কায় ব্যাকুল হয়—এই স্বভাবই সত্য বন্ধুর লক্ষণ; আর যারা রাজার ক্ষতি ও বিনাশ কামনা করে, তারা শত্রু বলে গণ্য।
