Chapter 78: Royal Responsibility for Wealth, Social Order, and the Protection of Dvijas
Kekaya Exemplum
विकर्मस्थाश्ष नोपेक्ष्या विप्रा राज्ञा कथठ्चन । इति राज्ञां पुरावृत्तमभिजल्पन्ति साधव:
Bhīṣma uvāca: vikarmasthāś ca noprekṣyā viprā rājñā kathaṃcana | iti rājñāṃ purāvṛttam abhijalpanti sādhavaḥ ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—যে ব্রাহ্মণরা নিজ বর্ণধর্মের বিরুদ্ধ কর্মে প্রবৃত্ত হয়, রাজা কোনো অবস্থাতেই তাদের উপেক্ষা করবেন না। ধার্মিকগণ একে রাজাদের প্রাচীন, চিরাচরিত রীতি বলে ঘোষণা করেন।
