इति सर्वान् गुणानेतान् यथोक्तान् यो<नुवर्तते । अनुभूयेह भद्राणि प्रेत्य स्वर्गे महीयते
iti sarvān guṇān etān yathoktān yo 'nuvartate | anubhūyeha bhadrāṇi pretya svarge mahīyate ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—এইভাবে যে ব্যক্তি (বা রাজা) উপদেশিত এই সকল গুণ যথাযথভাবে অনুসরণ করে, সে এই জীবনেই মঙ্গল লাভ করে; আর মৃত্যুর পরে স্বর্গে সম্মানিত ও মহিমান্বিত হয়।
भीष्म उवाच
Consistent practice of the prescribed virtues yields tangible well-being in this life and leads to honor and exaltation after death—framing dharma as beneficial both socially and spiritually.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma continues his instruction on dharma to Yudhiṣṭhira; this verse serves as a concluding assurance that following the enumerated qualities brings worldly auspiciousness and posthumous heavenly reward.
