Āśrama-dharma: Duties of the Four Life-Stages (आश्रमधर्मः)
प्रजापतिर्हि वर्णानां दासं शूद्रमकल्पयत् । तस्माच्छुद्रस्य वर्णानां परिचर्या विधीयते
prajāpatir hi varṇānāṃ dāsaṃ śūdram akalpayat | tasmāc chūdrasya varṇānāṃ paricaryā vidhīyate ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—প্রজাপতি শূদ্রকে অন্যান্য বর্ণের পরিচারক রূপে সৃষ্টি করেছেন; অতএব শূদ্রের জন্য তিন বর্ণের সেবা ও পরিচর্যাই শাস্ত্রবিধেয় কর্তব্য।
