न विश्वसेच्च नृपतिर्न चात्यर्थ च विश्वसेत्‌ । षाड्गुण्यगुणदोषांश्न नित्यं बुद्धघावलोकयेत्‌

Transliteration

na viśvasec ca nṛpatir na cātyarthaṃ ca viśvaset | ṣāḍguṇya-guṇa-doṣāṃś ca nityaṃ buddhyāvalokayet ||

Translation

রাজা যেন না অন্ধবিশ্বাসী হয়, না সম্পূর্ণ অবিশ্বাসী; আর বিশ্বাসযোগ্য ব্যক্তির প্রতিও অতিরিক্ত নির্ভর না করে। সন্ধি, বিগ্রহ, যান, আসন, দ্বৈধীভাব ও সমাশ্রয়—রাষ্ট্রনীতির এই ছয় উপায়ের গুণ-দোষ সে নিজের বুদ্ধিতে সর্বদা বিচার করবে।
