Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes faithful transmission of sacred teaching and the ethical importance of responding to wisdom with proper practice—here, hearing the narrative leads to disciplined, rule-governed worship and the honoring of ascetic vows.

Sauti concludes a segment by telling Śaunaka that he has fully repeated what Vaiśampāyana had recited; he notes that Janamejaya, after hearing it, performed a proper sacrificial worship, and he acknowledges the ascetic, vow-keeping nature of the listening sages.
