अध्याय २९७ — श्रेयः, धृति, दान-नियमाः
Welfare, Steadfastness, and Norms of Giving
न चैशि: पुण्यकर्माणो युज्यन्ते चाभिसंधिजै: । एवंविधैश्व बहुभिरपरै: प्राकृतेरपि,पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले मनुष्य इस तरहके उपायोंसे प्राण नहीं देते तथा ऐसे-ऐसे दूसरे अधम उपायोंसे भी उनकी मृत्यु नहीं होती
na caiśiḥ puṇyakarmāṇo yujyante cābhisaṃdhijaiḥ | evaṃvidhaiś ca bahubhir aparaiḥ prākṛter api ||
পরাশর বললেন—পুণ্যকর্মে নিবিষ্ট মানুষ কপটময়, সাজানো-গোছানো ষড়যন্ত্রের উপায়ে প্রাণ ত্যাগ করে না; আর সাধারণ সংসারধর্মী প্রকৃতি থেকে উদ্ভূত এমন বহু নীচ উপায়েও তাদের বিনাশ হয় না।
