शम्यापातेनाभ्यतीयाद्‌ वेदीभिभ्षित्रयन्‌ महीम्‌ । ईजान: क्रतुभिर्मुख्यै: पर्यगच्छद्‌ वसुन्धराम्‌

śamyāpātenābhyatīyād vedībhir bhūṣitrayan mahīm | ījānaḥ kratubhir mukhyaiḥ paryagacchad vasundharām |

বায়ু বললেন—“শম্যাপাত নামে যে বিধি, তার দ্বারা তিনি পৃথিবী মেপে মেপে যজ্ঞবেদী স্থাপন করে ভূমিকে অলংকৃত করেছিলেন। প্রধান প্রধান ক্রতু সম্পাদন করতে করতে তিনি সমগ্র বসুন্ধরা পরিভ্রমণ করেছিলেন।”
