अध्याय २८६ — पराशर-उपदेशः
Ethical Restraint, Mortality, and Karma
विहितेनैव जीवन्ति अरोगाड़ा दिवौकस: । बलवन्तोडबलाश्वैव तस्मादस्मान् सभाजय
vihitenaiva jīvanti arogā divaukasaḥ | balavanto ’balāś caiva tasmād asmān sabhājaya ||
সমদ বললেন—দেবতারা রোগমুক্ত হলেও বিধির নির্দেশ অনুসারেই বাঁচেন; শক্তিমান ও দুর্বল—উভয়েই সেই একই বিধানে জীবন ধারণ করে। অতএব আমাকেও সম্মান করুন; আমরাও ভাগ্যের উপর নির্ভর করি, স্বেচ্ছায় কর্ম আরম্ভ করি না—আমাদের অলস ভেবে অবজ্ঞা করবেন না।
