पूर्वोपायोपपन्नेन मार्गण वरवर्णिनि | न मे सुरा: प्रयच्छन्ति भागं यज्ञस्य धर्मत:,सुन्दरि! पूर्वनिश्चित नियमके अनुसार धर्मकी दृष्टिसे ही देवतालोग यज्ञमें मुझे भाग नहीं अर्पित करते हैं
pūrvopāyopapannena mārgaṇa varavarṇini | na me surāḥ prayacchanti bhāgaṃ yajñasya dharmataḥ, sundari ||
মহেশ্বর বললেন—হে বরবর্ণিনি! প্রাচীন বিধি অনুসারে যথাযথ উপায়ে আমাকে অন্বেষণ-আরাধনা করা হলেও, দেবতারা ‘ধর্ম’-নিয়ম মান্য করে যজ্ঞে আমাকে আমার ভাগ প্রদান করে না।
