Educational Q&A

Sustained restraint of anger and the actions prompted by it prevents regretful, harmful deeds; self-control is presented as a practical foundation of dharma.

In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on righteous conduct, Bhishma advises the listener that mastering anger—by containing it and delaying anger-driven action—ensures one does not commit acts that later demand repentance.
