जैगीषव्य उवाच या गतिर्या परा काष्ठा या शान्ति: पुण्यकर्मणाम्‌ | तां ते5हं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि महतीमृषिसत्तम,जैगीषव्य बोले--मुनिश्रेष्ठ! पुण्यकर्म करनेवाले महापुरुषोंको जिसका आश्वय लेनेसे उत्तम गति, उत्कर्षकी चरम सीमा और परम शान्ति प्राप्त होती है, उस श्रेष्ठ बुद्धिका मैं तुमसे वर्णन करता हूँ

জৈগীষব্য বললেন—হে ঋষিশ্রেষ্ঠ! পুণ্যকর্মশীলদের যে আশ্রয়ে উত্তম গতি, সাধনার চরম শিখর এবং পরম শান্তি লাভ হয়, সেই মহান প্রজ্ঞা আমি তোমাকে বর্ণনা করছি।
