अहमेवोद्वहाम्यापो विसृजामि च वासव । तपामि चैव त्रैलोक्यं विद्योताम्पहमेव च
aham evodvahāmy āpo visṛjāmi ca vāsava | tapāmi caiva trailokyaṁ vidyotāmy aham eva ca ||
হে বাসব! আমি একাই জল তুলে আনি, আবার আমিই তা বর্ষণ করি। আমি একাই ত্রিলোককে তাপ দিই, আর আমিই বিদ্যুৎ হয়ে আলো ছড়াই।
श॒क्र उवाच
The verse links authority with responsibility: the one who wields power must sustain order through beneficial, regulated action—like the cosmic cycle of lifting waters, releasing rain, giving warmth, and providing light.
Śakra (Indra) speaks in self-assertion, describing his cosmic functions—evaporation, rainfall, heating the worlds, and lightning—emphasizing his role in maintaining the world’s rhythms.
