कपोत-लुब्धकसंवादः — Hunter’s Remorse and Renunciatory Resolve

न धर्मवचन वाचा नैव बुद्धयेति नः श्रुतम्‌ । इति बार्हस्पतं ज्ञानं प्रोवाच मघवा स्वयम्‌

Transliteration

na dharmavacana-vācā naiva buddhayeti naḥ śrutam | iti bārhaspataṃ jñānaṃ provāca maghavā svayam ||

Translation

ভীষ্ম বললেন—আমরা শুনেছি, কেবল বাক্যচাতুর্য দ্বারা নয়, আবার কেবল বুদ্ধি-তর্ক দ্বারাও নয়—ধর্মের সিদ্ধান্ত স্থির হয়। বृहস্পতির এই মত যে শাস্ত্রবচন ও যুক্তির সমন্বয়ে ধর্ম নির্ণীত হয়; এ কথা স্বয়ং মঘবা (ইন্দ্র) বলেছেন।
