नविश्वसेदविश्वस्ते विश्वस्ते नातिविश्वसेत् विश्वासाद् भयमभ्येति नापरीक्ष्य च विश्वसेद्
na viśvased aviśvaste viśvaste nātiviśvaset | viśvāsād bhayam abhyeti nāparīkṣya ca viśvaset ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—অবিশ্বাস্যকে বিশ্বাস কোরো না; আর বিশ্বাসযোগ্যকেও অতিমাত্রায় বিশ্বাস কোরো না। অতিবিশ্বাস থেকেই ভয় ও বিপদ জন্মায়; তাই পরীক্ষা না করে কারও উপর বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কোরো না।
