Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)
नविश्वसेदविश्वस्ते विश्वस्ते नातिविश्वसेत् विश्वासाद् भयमुत्पन्नमपि मूलं निकृन्तति । काम॑ विश्वासयेदन्यान् परेषां च न विश्वसेत्
na viśvased aviśvaste viśvaste nātiviśvaset | viśvāsād bhayam utpannam api mūlaṃ nikṛntati || kāmaṃ viśvāsayed anyān pareṣāṃ ca na viśvaset |
ব্রহ্মদত্ত বললেন—যে অবিশ্বাস্য, তাকে বিশ্বাস কোরো না; আর যে বিশ্বাসযোগ্য, তাকেও অতিরিক্ত বিশ্বাস কোরো না। কারণ বিশ্বাস থেকে জন্ম নেওয়া ভয় মানুষকে শিকড় থেকে কেটে ফেলে। ইচ্ছা হলে অন্যদের মনে নিজের প্রতি আস্থা জাগাও; কিন্তু নিজে অন্যের ওপর অন্ধ বিশ্বাস রেখো না।
