आपद्धर्मे राज्ञः नीतिः — Bharadvāja’s Counsel on Crisis-Statecraft (Śānti Parva 138)
दीर्घसूत्रस्तु मन्दात्मा हीनबुद्धिरचेतन: । मरणं प्राप्तवान् मूढो यथैवोपहतेन्द्रियः
dīrghasūtrastu mandātmā hīnabuddhiracetanaḥ | maraṇaṃ prāptavān mūḍho yathaivopahatendriyaḥ ||
কিন্তু যে দীর্ঘসূত্রী, মন্দপ্রাণ, বুদ্ধিহীন ও অচেতন মূঢ়—সে মৃত্যুকে বরণ করে; যেমন ইন্দ্রিয়হত প্রাণী ইন্দ্রিয়ের সহায়তা হারিয়ে বিনষ্ট হয়।
