Vetasa-Nīti: The Reed and the Flood (वेतस-नीति)

वेतसो वेगमायातं दृष्टवा नमति नापरे | सरिद्वेगेडव्यतिक्रान्ते स्थानमासाद्य तिष्ठति
Transliteration
vetaso vegam āyātaṃ dṛṣṭvā namati nāpare | sarid-vege ’py atikrānte sthānam āsādya tiṣṭhati ||
Translation
সাগর বললেন—নদীর বেগ আসতে দেখলে বেতস নুয়ে পড়ে, অন্য বৃক্ষ নোয় না। তাই স্রোতের তীব্রতা কেটে গেলে সে আবার নিজের স্থানে ফিরে দাঁড়ায়।
