जनकस्य युद्धोपदेशः — Janaka’s Instruction on Steadfast Battle-Conduct
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत शान्तिपर्वके अन्तर्गत राजधमनुशासनपर्वमें इन्द्र और अम्बरीषका संवादविषयक अद्दानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥/ ९८ ॥ (दाक्षिणत्य अधिक पाठके २३६ शलोक मिलाकर कुछ ७४ ३ “लोक हैं) नजीब न (0) आज अन+- नवनवतितमो< ध्याय: शूरवीरोंको स्वर्ग और कायरोंको नरककी प्राप्तिके विषयमें मिथिलेश्वर जनकका इतिहास भीष्म उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् । प्रतर्दनो मैथिलश्न संग्रामं यत्र चक्रतु:
bhīṣma uvāca |
atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṁ purātanam |
pratardano maithilaś ca saṅgrāmaṁ yatra cakratuḥ ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—হে রাজন, এ বিষয়েও জ্ঞানীরা এক প্রাচীন ইতিহাসের দৃষ্টান্ত দেন। তাতে বলা হয়েছে, এক সময় প্রতর্দন ও মিথিলার অধিপতি জনক পরস্পরের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধে লিপ্ত হয়েছিলেন।
