Mahabharata — Shalya Parva, Shloka 43
व्यवहारं गदायुद्धे पार्थिवस्थ च पातनम् | तदाख्याय तत: सर्वे द्रोणपुत्रस्य भारत ।।
sañjaya uvāca |
vyavahāraṃ gadāyuddhe pārthivasya ca pātanam |
tad ākhyāya tataḥ sarve droṇaputrasya bhārata ||
(vārtikā: duḥkhasaṃtaptāḥ śokopahatacetasaḥ |
dhyātvā ca suciraṃ kālaṃ jagmur āgatā yathāgatam ||)
সঞ্জয় বললেন—হে ভারত! গদাযুদ্ধের আচরণ ও রাজার পতন—এই সব দ্রোণপুত্রকে জানিয়ে সেই বার্তাবাহকেরা দুঃখে দগ্ধ ও শোকে আঘাতপ্রাপ্তচিত্ত হয়ে দীর্ঘক্ষণ ধ্যানমগ্ন রইল; তারপর আর্ত ও ব্যাকুল হয়ে যেমন এসেছিল তেমনই চলে গেল।
