व्रतैश्न नियमैश्वनैव काले काले सम भुज्जते | वे सब-के-सब अन्न छोड़कर व्रत और नियमोंका पालन करते हुए समय-समयपर उस वृक्षका ही फल खाया करते थे
vrataiś ca niyamaiś caiva kāle kāle sama-bhuñjate
তাঁরা সকল প্রকার অন্ন ত্যাগ করে ব্রত ও নিয়ম পালন করতেন; যথাসময়ে সংযত পরিমাণে আহার করতেন এবং তপোনিয়ম অনুসারে সেই বৃক্ষের ফলই কেবল ভক্ষণ করতেন।
