Educational Q&A

Even in a war driven by contested dharma, extraordinary human action is portrayed as being observed and evaluated by higher witnesses (Siddhas and Cāraṇas). The verse highlights the moral and cosmic visibility of deeds: valor and splendor evoke awe, yet they occur within the larger ethical gravity of battle.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that two great chariot-warriors appear in striking splendor, and their sight causes the gathered celestial beings—Siddhas and Cāraṇas—to marvel in astonishment.
