Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the ethical weight of kingship (rājyakṛtya) and the need for self-control in speech: harsh, anger-driven words wound and become difficult to bear. It also conveys humility and the recognition that rulership should belong to the truly capable and noble.

Sañjaya, distressed by angry and severe remarks addressed to him, declares that Bhīma is more worthy of kingship and that he himself has no claim or desire for royal responsibility. He admits he cannot endure further harsh words spoken in wrath.
