अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च

विक्रमं विहतं मेन आत्मन: स महायशा: । तस्यास्य समरे राजन्‌ वपुरासीत्‌ सुदुर्दशम्‌

sañjaya uvāca |

vikramaṃ vihataṃ mene ātmanaḥ sa mahāyaśāḥ |

tasyāsya samare rājan vapur āsīt sudurdaśam ||

সেই মহাযশস্বী যোদ্ধা নিজের বিক্রমকে রুদ্ধ হয়েছে বলে মনে করলেন। রাজন, সেই সমরে তার দেহ এমন ভয়ংকর ও শোচনীয় অবস্থায় প্রতীয়মান হল যে তাকিয়ে থাকাও কঠিন হয়ে উঠল।
