Arjuna’s resolve for Karṇa’s defeat
na hi tatra pumān kaścanid yo 'rjunaṃ pratyavidhyata | paśyatāṃ tatra vīrāṇām ahanyata balaṃ tava ||

The verse underscores the asymmetry of prowess and the inevitability of consequences in war: when a warrior like Arjuna gains decisive advantage, mere numbers and reputation cannot protect an army. Ethically, it highlights the tragic momentum of battle—valor witnessed by many still cannot halt destruction once adharma-driven conflict has ripened into unavoidable loss.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that on the battlefield no Kaurava warrior was able to effectively counterstrike Arjuna. In full view of the assembled heroes, Arjuna continues to cut down Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s forces, and the Kaurava army suffers heavy slaughter.
