ततस्तथेति देवेशस्तैरुक्तो राजसत्तम | अर्धमादाय सर्वेषां तेजसा भ्यधिको5भवत्,नृपश्रेष्ठी तदनन्तर देवताओंने देवेश्वर भगवान् शिवसे “तथास्तु” कह दिया और सबके तेजका आधा भाग लेकर वे अधिक तेजस्वी हो गये
tatas tatheti deveśas tair ukto rājasattama | ardham ādāya sarveṣāṁ tejasābhyadhiko 'bhavat |
তখন দেবেশ্বর, তাদের কথায়, বললেন—“তথাস্তु।” আর সকলের তেজের অর্ধাংশ গ্রহণ করে তিনি আরও অধিক দীপ্তিমান হয়ে উঠলেন।
दुर्योधन उवाच
Power gained through external grant or appropriation can magnify ego and conflict; dharmic strength is ideally grounded in self-restraint and rightful conduct, not merely in accumulated “tejas.”
Duryodhana recounts that the divine lord assented (“tathāstu”) and, by taking half the splendor of all, became even more radiant—highlighting a moment of divine empowerment that feeds into the larger war-driven escalation.
