कर्णस्य दानप्रतिज्ञा–शल्योपदेश–वाक्ययुद्धम्

हयारोहाश्व बहव: परिवार्य गजोत्तमान् | तलशब्दरवांश्वक्रु: सम्पतन्तस्ततस्तत:
sañjaya uvāca | hayārohāś ca bahavaḥ parivārya gajottamān | tālaśabdaravāṁś cakruḥ sampatantas tatas tataḥ ||
সঞ্জয় বললেন—অসংখ্য অশ্বারোহী শ্রেষ্ঠ গজরাজদের চারদিক থেকে ঘিরে এদিক-ওদিক ছুটে বেড়িয়ে করতালধ্বনি ও প্রবল কোলাহল তুলল। সেই শব্দে ভীত হয়ে বিশাল দেহী হাতিগুলি দৌড়ে ছত্রভঙ্গ হতে লাগল; তখন অশ্বারোহীরা তাদের পার্শ্ব ও পশ্চাৎ দিক থেকে শরাঘাতে আঘাত করতে লাগল।
