Daiva–Puruṣakāra Discourse and the Elephant-Corps Engagement (भीमगजानीक-सम्भ्रान्ति)
शितैरवाकिरद् बाणै: कलिड्डानां वरूथिनीम् । कालिड्रस्तु महेष्वास: पुत्रश्नास्य महारथ:
śitair avākirad bāṇaiḥ kaliḍḍānāṃ varūthinīm | kāliḍras tu maheṣvāsaḥ putraśnāsya mahārathaḥ ||
তিনি তীক্ষ্ণ বাণের বর্ষায় কলিঙ্গদের যুদ্ধবিন্যাস আচ্ছন্ন করে দিলেন; কিন্তু পুত্রশ্নার পুত্র, মহাধনুর্ধর ও মহারথী কালিঙ্গ বীর সেই আক্রমণের মুখোমুখি হতে অচল হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে রইল।
