भीष्मपतनविषये धृतराष्ट्रस्य प्रश्नाः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Questions on Bhīṣma’s Fall
व्युत्थितोत्पत्तिविज्ञानमाकाशे च गति: शुभा । अस्त्रेरसंगो युद्धेषु वरदानान्महात्मन:
sañjaya uvāca | vyutthitotpattivijñānam ākāśe ca gatiḥ śubhā | astre ’rasaṅgo yuddheṣu varadān mahātmanaḥ ||
সঞ্জয় বললেন—সেই মহাত্মার বরদানে আমি জীবসমূহের উদ্ভব ও উৎপত্তির বিবেকজ্ঞান লাভ করেছি, আকাশে বিচরণের শুভ শক্তিও পেয়েছি; আর যুদ্ধে অস্ত্র আমার গায়ে লাগে না, আমাকে আঘাতও করতে পারে না। যাঁর কৃপায় এই অসাধারণ দানসমূহ সম্ভব হয়েছে, সেই পরাশরনন্দন প্রাজ্ঞ ব্যাসকে প্রণাম করে, হে রাজন, আমি এখন ভরতবংশের এই অতি আশ্চর্য ও রোমহর্ষক যুদ্ধের বৃত্তান্ত যথাযথভাবে আরম্ভ করছি।
