एवं ब्रुवत्यां करुणं दुःशलायां धनंजय:,जब दु:शला इस प्रकार करुणायुक्त वचन कहने लगी, तब अर्जुन राजा धृतराष्ट्र और गान्धारी देवीको याद करके दुःख और शोकसे पीड़ित हो क्षत्रिय-धर्मकी निन्‍दा करने लगे --

Transliteration

evaṁ bruvatyāṁ karuṇaṁ duḥśalāyāṁ dhanaṁjayaḥ

Translation

বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন— দুঃশলা যখন করুণ ও শোকভারাক্রান্ত বাক্য বলছিলেন, তখন ধনঞ্জয় (অর্জুন) রাজা ধৃতরাষ্ট্র ও দেবী গান্ধারীকে স্মরণ করে দুঃখে আচ্ছন্ন হলেন এবং এমন দুঃখ ডেকে আনা ক্ষত্রিয়ধর্মকে নিন্দা করতে লাগলেন।
