यद्येतत् त्वं प्रतिश्रुत्य न करोषि वच: शुभम् | सकल वृष्णिशार्दूल मृतां मामवधारय
yady etat tvaṁ pratiśrutya na karoṣi vacaḥ śubham | sakala-vṛṣṇi-śārdūla mṛtāṁ mām avadhāraya ||
বৈশম্পায়ন বললেন— “হে বৃষ্ণিশার্দূল! যদি এমন প্রতিজ্ঞা করে তুমি তোমার মঙ্গলময় বাক্য পালন না কর, তবে নিশ্চিত জেনো—আমি মৃতপ্রায় হব; আমি প্রাণ ত্যাগ করব।”
