यज्ञमित्यपरे विप्रा: प्रदानमिति चापरे । तपस्त्वन्ये प्रशंसन्ति स्वाध्यायमपरे जना:
yajñam ity apare viprāḥ pradānam iti cāpare | tapas tv anye praśaṃsanti svādhyāyam apare janāḥ ||
বায়ু বললেন—কিছু বিদ্বান ব্রাহ্মণ যজ্ঞকেই পরম শ্রেয় বলেন, আর কেউ দানকে। কেউ তপস্যার প্রশংসা করেন, আবার অন্যেরা স্বাধ্যায় ও বেদপাঠকে শ্রেষ্ঠ বলে মানেন।
