ज्योतिराकाशमादित्यो वायुरिन्द्र: प्रजापति: । नोपैति यावदध्यात्मं तावदेतान् न पश्यति
jyotir ākāśam ādityo vāyur indraḥ prajāpatiḥ | nopaiti yāvad adhyātmaṁ tāvad etān na paśyati ||
বায়ু বললেন—জ্যোতি, আকাশ, সূর্য, বায়ু, ইন্দ্র ও প্রজাপতি—যতক্ষণ অন্তঃআত্মার জ্ঞান লাভ না হয়, ততক্ষণ মানুষ এ সকল তত্ত্বের প্রকৃত স্বরূপ প্রত্যক্ষ করতে পারে না। আত্মজ্ঞান উদিত হলে তাদের সত্যও স্পষ্ট হয়।

Without adhyātma-jñāna (realization of the inner Self), one’s understanding of even the greatest cosmic powers—light, space, sun, wind, Indra, Prajāpati—remains superficial. Self-knowledge clarifies the true nature of these principles and removes mistaken perception.
Vāyu is instructing the listener that spiritual insight is the key to right vision: until the inner Self is known, the realities symbolized by major deities and elements are not properly ‘seen’; with Self-realization, their essential truth becomes intelligible.
