Attempt to Dissuade Kuntī; Commencement of Forest Residence
tān ācakhyau tadā sūtaḥ sarvāṁs tān abhināmataḥ | sañjayo draupadī caiva sarvāś cānyāḥ kurustriyaḥ ||
The verse highlights dharmic communication: speaking truthfully and respectfully by naming and properly identifying people, especially in sensitive circumstances. Correct recognition of persons and lineage is treated as part of social and ethical order.
After being questioned, Sañjaya (described as a sūta/charioteer) introduces those present by name—explicitly mentioning Draupadī and the other Kuru women—so the inquirers understand who they are.
